It’s been a long, hard road, but we made it. Volume 1 of Ka-Ching is complete. If you know your Kurosawa, you know that as far as story goes we’re like, twenty minutes into The Hidden Fortress, if that. And that movie is like, a million minutes long. So where do we go from here? Well, gather round the desert campfire, dear readers, because we have much to discuss.

First things first, we have a guest mini for you this month. Unfortunately, that’s all we have for you for the next month or so. Hey, we need vacations, too, and there’s a lot of turkey to eat in the next few weeks. But after that, we have something very special planned before we launch into Volume 2 proper. It involves magic swords, a hidden city, a certain insane wizard, and a whole lotta revelations. Stay tuned on that front.

In the almost-two-years since we started Ka-Ching!, a lot has happened for both Pat Guppy and myself, your writer Jake. We have some other projects going on on the side that we’re just as excited about. I recently moved out to Los Angeles to sell my soul for the chance to write big-time Hollywood shits, but out here you gotta start small. So I put together a crack team and shot a webseries called Jesus House. This is the very first fully public announcement of it, so you should feel… I dunno, totally awesome, I guess? We’re in the post-production phase right now, but I can show you a few little images to whet your appetite! The show is a reality television program for which we gathered four of the most delusional people we could find, who all happen to think that they are genuinely the second coming of Christ, and then made them live in a house together. The results? Hilarious. And the very best news is that Pat is doing some graphic design and art for us!

And lo, we came across this totally sweet field at magic hour...

Pat spent the month of October participating in the Inktober challenge, which sees thousands of artists around the world create one ink drawing every day for the entire month. Check out some of his very cool work! There’s tons more available on his blog, too.

So there it is. We’re keeping busy, and we’ll be back with more story in a few short weeks. In the meantime, enjoy these and our upcoming guest mini-comic!
